Original Creation

Fire lake by HappyTreesArtByBram

Voy Kay 15 Dec 2020

'Scottisafool' uploaded his version several days ago and it grabbed my attention. Since I had a recycled canvas (20"x24") ready with a reddish background on it, I decided to use it for this painting. Liquid clear was used for the base and the red cherry colour was made with 85% 'cadmium red deep hue' and 15% T-white.
Hardest part here was creating the water which was less easy due to the liquid clear that kept on eating my ivory black!
Two hours of fun and I was SO happy with the end result, specially the bushes and trees.

Please enjoy, read some articles, wander through my profile for other creations and till next one!

Wow! Looks great, very creative!

Cherry, pomegranate- this red you got is fantastic! What pigment number is it?

Love this, straight out of TOS, just be careful you are not the one in the red shirt! LLAP 🖖

That is a lovely shade of red and the bushes and trees turned out wonderfully!

@Felix, thank you, I needed a firecracker while nearing X-mas!!

Sunnylady, how I have missed your comments!! 🥰

You mentioned that Cherry color and yes indeed, my mix turned out to be very cherry alike.
I used 'Cadmium red deep hue' (Winsor & Newton) with Pigment Codes PO36 • PR170. Combined with a little T-white and one a reddish canvas prepared with liquid clear, it gave me such wonderful mix!

So happy you like it!!

It's a golden rule Nivek .... NEVER wear red when ebing beamed down!! Hahaha!! So great you like this!

FVG, thanks for your cheers! It is a fact indeed that I hardly ever have painted my bushes this well! It is obvious that I do have a thing with larger canvasses since on those, my bushes and foliage always seem to work!

@Tholmes, so great you love this!
I needed to use a one inch foliage brush for this but instead used a normal one inch brush cause that gave me more control and better angles.
I was so happy that I did not follow the teacher this time so instead, created some pretty darn great bushes!!

I'm so happy you love this one Heather!
I bet this one should go okay as well with yellow as well.

Feel like trying this on another paint date with me?

Voy! It's a date! I will be off work from Dec 19th to Jan 4th, so I am sure we can find a day in there that works... it's not like I have plans (thank you Covid.)

Mmmm, love you baby!! 😋😘

You bedoelt this one? I dont like the colour, sorry.

Voy Kay Conqueror of Challenges

Yes indeed! And I agree, that red is rather aggressive yet that colour was used by the original artist. Personally, my yellow is a lot better, and I believe even some bright purple might suit as well!
